". I thank the Member for that. I do not believe that adaptability and flexibility naturally enhancing or supporting the rights of workers need ever necessarily be in contradiction to each other. In Ireland we have had some experience in recent years of the tremendous progress that can be made economically by having an inclusive approach to it. I accept the point that the Member made. It is a complex issue. There are different views on this, both within this House and within Europe. However, in general, it would be a fallacy for us to think that we have to build in flexibility, adaptability or progress at a cost to workers. That should not be the basis on which we make our progress. I am sure that is not what the Member has in mind."@en1
