"Like Mr Medina Ortega, I also want to say that not enough is being done in favour of ultraperipheral regions. In Ireland, for example, the network into and out of Ireland is often considered sufficient, but the west of Ireland is even more peripheral and remote, and this problem is not addressed by the Commission's present policy. There is no railway line connecting the regions in the west of Ireland – all networks lead to Dublin, which is not peripheral. There is already a rail link in place in the west, but it is not used as a result of the fact that the policy is not strong enough to put in place such a network in the peripheral regions of the west of Ireland."@en1
