"Very briefly, I was asked a question in relation to Amendment No 4, and perhaps I might just give some clarification to that on the Klaß report. I believe the Amendment No 4 compromise is quite clear. The industry can notify the studies for existing derivative products for a period of nine months after the entry into force of the directive. The Commission will finally need to decide, at the latest four years after the entry into force, whether a derivative will need to be labelled or not. The Commission will decide on the basis of the studies, after the consultation that is envisaged with the European Food Safety Authority."@en1
