I ask you to communicate strongly to President Bush that there is no truth in this allegation. In Rome this last weekend, at a meeting of the EU-US delegation, I and other Members of Parliament strongly refuted this allegation and outlined the stringent budgetary controls in place for the funding of the Palestinian Authority, to make sure that such funds are not misappropriated. I urge you to raise this issue with President Bush at the earliest possible opportunity."@en¹
