This makes the introduction of a European senior citizens’ card useful and worthwhile. Such a card would allow the holder to pay the reduced rate for senior citizens for public amenities, museums and events etc. throughout the whole of Europe. This would not only support and encourage mobility, but would also increase general acceptance of the EU, and improve contact and understanding between individual Member States.
