".
Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, I know that we are late for the vote, and will therefore be very brief. I want to thank Mrs Roure for her excellent report. I want to express the Commission’s preference for not including rules for researchers in this directive, since Mr Busquin and I intend this autumn to present a general proposal on third-country researchers in the European Union. The Commission will consider further the rapporteur’s proposals on brain drain, the stand-still clause and on reducing the decision period from 90 to 60 days. Finally, I would encourage Parliament to seek a broad consensus in favour of adopting Amendment No 37, on conditions of access to work."@en1
