Regarding Palestine, the whole region has for generations been trying to cope with this problem. It is true that this is both part of the problem and part of the solution. Much of the peace dividend between Israel and its neighbours will relate to a better and more rational use of water. For the Iraqis, this is not such a burning issue in the list of problems they are facing; but a better use of water and its agricultural potential are not matters to be neglected. Oil is not the only resource in that country."@en1
