Given the current situation of employment, caused in particular by the relocation of undertakings whose priority is profit, without any consideration for the importance of the ‘function of work’ to social development, to the mental wellbeing of workers and their extended families, the European Parliament as the institution representing the people of Europe, absolutely must adopt a strong stance on a global strategy to promote employment and its corresponding social policy in the European Union.
