"Mr President, I have the pleasure of having a nephew, Silvio Nardini, my sister’s son – he does not know that I am mentioning him in the European Parliament – whom I am very proud of because he is part of the European Force involved in a peace mission in Afghanistan: he is a ‘top gun’, as they say in films, but has his feet firmly on the ground. He said to me: ‘I have been and am in the United Arab Emirates controlling air traffic from Italy to Afghanistan. I am very happy and proud of what I am doing, and it is very satisfying. This is not war; it is about bringing peace and building on it where there is need’. This is why I voted, even more enthusiastically, for this report on Afghanistan."@en1
