"I have today voted in favour of Mr Bourlanges’s report (). I agree that the EU system must be simplified and that Parliament must contribute to the work of the Convention.
I nonetheless regret the reference to management and labour. The rapporteur is trying to arrange for the introduction of an approval procedure by the Council and Parliament once management and labour have arrived at a proposal. In my view, that would give rise to an inappropriate third party in the social dialogue. The intention of the social dialogue is that management and labour should enter into binding agreements with one another."@en1
