Although we agree with some of the proposals put forward in the report, as well as with some of the good intentions expressed, we abstained overall.
The proposals are not in fact based on the aspirations of the young and the less young who, it is claimed, influence many of society’s needs. Everything is designed in accordance with what the report discreetly calls the labour market and its flexibility. Behind these noble sentiments, the aim is to provide industrial groups and capitalist businesses with a workforce that is trained according to their needs. This has nothing to do with a policy that provides all citizens with lifelong learning based on their potential and their aspirations."@en1
