"Mr President, a few days ago, port workers were savagely attacked in the port of Piraeus on the orders of the Greek Government. Τhe port police, the metropolitan police and special armed forces launched a particularly ferocious attack on port workers striking for insurance rights and more humane working conditions.
A ship was ordered to continue on its way, despite the fact that the president of merchant fleet engineers was hanging on to its ramp. Shipowners in the port were seen directing the attack by the special forces and several dozen injured people were treated as common criminals, just for defending their basic rights.
This is where policies on insurance systems, including the policy of the European Union, lead; this is what happens when you refer to grass-roots movements as terrorism. I should like this to be noted and for you to intervene in order to ensure that we do not witness a repeat occurrence of such ugly scenes."@en1
