"Mr De Rossa, honourable Members, without prejudice to any information Mr de Miguel might wish to provide on behalf of the Council, I am bound to explain to you that there is a difference of opinion between Parliament and the Council. It concerns the date and time by which questions should have been submitted in order to receive an answer. I am simply saying that such a difference of opinion exists. I am not making a value judgment, just stating facts. Parliament’s deadline is 1 p.m. on 26 April. Council’s is 1 p.m. on 25 April. The situation is that in any case the last ten of the series of questions to be put to the Council would not have been answered orally, because they are at the end. That being so, the Council may decide to provide a written answer, further to the President’s letter. This is what would have happened anyway. Alternatively, the questions may be transferred to the next part-session. That would be the worst scenario as far as Parliament is concerned. I trust Parliament and the Council will come to an understanding and the questions will be answered. Let us show some optimism for once. Should you wish to provide further clarification, Mr de Miguel, you have the floor."@en1
