". – Mr President, Mr Titley asked the Commission to reply to a very detailed question about the Court of Justice rulings on the use of Article 296. The Commission has used this case law to improve its regulation on the control of exports of dual-use goods and technology. More recently, and as I mentioned in my speech, the Commission is challenging 12 Member States over their misuse of Article 296 regarding customs duties on arms imports, preventing a common customs tariff from being implemented. The Commission will continue to follow this line. I want to thank Parliament for a very interesting debate; it is very important that we continue to act to promote a strong defence industry and capacity in Europe."@en1
