"Mr President, Mr Della Vedova has tabled a report which comments on the Commission communication on tax policy in the European Union. If I may, Mr President, I would like to explain why I voted for the motion: I feel it is important, as the report says, to reduce the overall tax burden in the European Union. However, this must be brought about not least through an improvement in the administration of welfare systems. Pension systems must be regulated in our 15 States and in the candidate countries so that management costs are reduced, social justice increased, less money is wasted and, above all, so that the money deposited in the States’ budgets in order to bear fruit is made to do so."@en1
