"I think that Mrs Lulling has misunderstood me. I only referred to the people of my own country. I certainly did not attack or ill use anyone in Luxembourg, or at least I hope not. And although I am, of course, no longer a member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, I did fulfil this role for 10 years. Since I was shadow rapporteur for my group during a previous round – dealing with the second proposal by the Commission on this subject – I did follow this issue to some extent, Mrs Lulling. But I certainly had no intention of offending anyone in Luxembourg or anything of the sort. I do not think I did; but if I did, my apologies. I would advise Mrs Lulling to read my text carefully, and she will conclude that there is no problem whatsoever."@en1
