"I am, of course, Mr President, very honoured by the Members’ consideration, for whenever I start to speak, increasing numbers of Members come from the corridors into the Chamber, as you can see is happening at the moment. With regard to this document, I would like to say that sailors and seafarers’ chief complaint about their job is that it is not stable and that when they arrive in port – as we all know, after a day ashore they cannot wait to get back on board – they have to wait months and months, sometimes years there. In my opinion, there ought to be an agreement for seafarers which stipulates eight or nine or six months on board every year and guarantees this rhythm of work throughout seafarers’ working lives."@en1
