". Mr President, I understand that the debate is closed, but I am here and I am ready to continue. I am trying to understand why the Chairman, Mr Watson, has said that we have failed to answer the questions. I have tried to take note of all contributions as quickly as possible. I have also tried to respond in as much detail as possible to at least the main questions, which I was naturally able to answer immediately. I am willing to appear again before your committee, Mr Watson, and to continue this dialogue. I have explained the spirit in which the Commission took this decision a few days ago. The communication to which you refer, Mrs Thors, is certainly possible. I shall endeavour to let you have a copy of our decision, if you have been unable to obtain a copy through any other means. I have informed you that since 3 December citizens have been able to access Commission documents within the terms of this regulation. We will provide concrete confirmation of this trend, and we remain wholeheartedly committed to applying the spirit and letter of this regulation. I have tried to respond as fully and as sincerely as possible to the questions put to me. I feel that I had to reiterate this point, Mr President, with your permission."@en1
