"The Egyptian government must take measures to improve the situation of the 8–10 million Coptic Christians in Egypt, who are discriminated against in legislation and in professional and social life, as well as in the practice of their religion.
The Coptic Christians are currently treated as second-class citizens in the state policy on public appointments. There is no absolute religious freedom in Egypt, as legislation restricts the ability of Christians to repair churches or build new ones. It is also vital that the Christian minority perceive the judiciary as impartial."@en1
