"I have, of course, voted for this report, Mr President, on democracy in international trade, but I should like to do more. As the representative of the pensioners that I have had the chance to meet over these two and a half years, I should also like to launch a new slogan here today: ‘Pensioners of the world, unite!’ Pensioners are citizens who have more money than young people and would be able to influence the trade and economy of the whole world. I therefore appeal to all pensioners and all elderly people throughout the world to unite in an organisation that can make its weight felt – a weight they are entitled to have because of their numbers – so they can influence international trade to make it more humane and friendlier to those in need, as we all hope."@en1
