Given the mounting evidence and public concern about the negative impact of WTO patent rules on poor peoples’ access to medicines, will the EU support and promote proposals from developing countries at the forthcoming TRIPs Councils and the WTO ministerial meeting in Qatar for WTO members to agree a review of public health and development implications of TRIPs and a moratorium on trade disputes with developing countries over TRIPs compliance until the review is complete, together with a revision of the TRIPs Agreement to allow developing countries the option of reducing the length and scope of patents on public health grounds?"@en1
