"As you know, Mr President, I am the national secretary of the Pensioners’ Party in Italy, and therefore I represent pensioners. Unfortunately, many pensioners, including young ones, are such because they have had accidents at work. I therefore applaud this report which seeks to reduce greatly accidents at work caused by working at a height. This is a scourge which afflicts the whole world, especially Europe and, within Europe, the countries where people work hardest, and so I think this is an example of how important it is that Europe should produce Community legislation to govern these activities, which cause so much harm and so much grief in our Europe."@en1
