".
We Swedish Christian Democrats welcome the initiative to combat human trafficking. We consider that there is a natural difference between the concepts of human trafficking and human smuggling. Consequently it is beneficial to address these issues in separate legal instruments, an opinion reflected in our vote.
Furthermore, we consider that as the framework decision concerns combating human trafficking and the punishment of those guilty of this, questions such as the treatment of victims of human trafficking should not be regulated in this instrument. We have therefore chosen to abstain from voting on these points."@en1
