It is at that level that the analyses of women’s and men’s wages are required as a basis for doing something about wage discrimination. In Sweden and Finland, we already have legislation requiring all employers to prepare annual equality plans, including plans for securing equal pay for work of equal value. Yesterday evening, the Committee on Women’s Rights and Equal Opportunities voted through a proposal to implement this throughout the European Union.
