On such a sensitive issue, one the citizens are particularly concerned about, we are simply consultants – well paid, of course, but without any decision-making power. I feel the time has come to change that. I think Parliament should have full powers of decision on all issues of interest to European citizens, on a par with the Council, at the same level of dignity and competence.
