"Mr President, when Mr Enrico Perniceni of Locatello Imagno in the province of Bergamo, my home town, discovered we were going to debate this directive he said: “Mr Fatuzzo, I know that I am a very old man but I would like my time never to come. If my time does have to come, I would like it to be the same time throughout the European Union! I therefore ask you to vote for the motion” – which I did – “because it is right for Europe to have a European time to go with the European currency, the European Parliament and the European flag. In fact, I feel that it is right for all the States of the European Union to be on the same summer time”."@en1
