"Mr President, I would like to draw the President’s attention to a letter that we sent in connection with the Statute for Members of Parliament. In this letter, Mrs Hautala made mention of our support and sympathy for the efforts undertaken by the President, Mrs Fontaine, to set up negotiations on our own Statute as MEPs. It is therefore a matter of the deepest regret to us that a meeting that was planned for 30 November was cancelled. We urge you in the strongest terms to call another meeting before the end of the French Presidency, so that the discussion about the Statute can be brought to a successful conclusion."@en1
