"Madam President, in a moment, we will be listening to a communication from the Commission on the fuel crisis, and I am pleased that the Commissioner is able to attend. We all know that she will not be staying for very long as she is leaving for Luxembourg later on this evening to visit the Transport Council. This should not prevent us, however, from entering into an extensive and searching debate on this issue and going over the short hour that was originally scheduled. Madam President, I express the view of many MEPs when I say that I regret that we have to deal with this issue in such a short space of time. The issue concerned has thrown the whole of Europe into commotion and may well do so for the foreseeable future. The time allocated is really far too short and, on behalf of many MEPs, I felt I had to express my dissatisfaction in public."@en1
