"Question No 59 by Patricia McKenna ():
According to a European Court of Justice ruling of August 1999, Coillte has illegitimately received EU loss of income forestry grants under forestry funding Regulation 2080/92amounting to £6.5 million from 1993 to 1999. The European Court ruled that as Coillte, the Irish semi-state company responsible for forestry development, was a ‘public entity’, it was not entitled to such payments.
In light of this judgment, is it the view of the Commission that Coillte is not entitled to further payments of £30.5 million of funds as part of the next round of forestry funding under Regulation 2080/92?"@en1
