"The Danish Social Democrats in the European Parliament welcome, and have voted in favour of, the initiative to improve the Community’s common foreign service. We also support the initiative to give further training to EC officials engaged in external activities. We are opposed, however, to setting up a college of diplomacy for training the staff. It must be possible for such training to take place as, for example, in-service or on the job training. We also make reservations about the Commission’s delegations developing into proper embassies. That would create an unclear picture of which problems are to be solved by the national embassies."@en1
