"If Parliament feels that there is a contradiction, it can address this contradiction by comparing it with reality, and the reality is that, contrary to what the honourable Member has just said, nowhere in my speech did I say that direct aid would suffer as a result of this redeployment of appropriations. I must make it clear that the Commission has simply said that it would use available funds and that savings would be made in the common agricultural policy. That is all.
