"Mr President, I would very quickly like to go back to the events which took place during the explanation of votes or during the point of order this morning. I am very new to this Parliament and I would just like to express my deep disappointment at the incident. Of course, I respect the Rules of Procedure and democracy, but the strategic, political action of a mere forty or so Members has prevented us from voting on Ethiopia. On behalf of this Parliament, I would like to apologise to the people of Ethiopia, to the men, women and children who are suffering in a tragic situation and in relation to whom Parliament was prevented from adopting a position this morning. I am extremely concerned. We were able to vote on the last two items, which were also urgent, but, in all honesty, I would have preferred to have voted for the people of Ethiopia and to have lent them the support of this Parliament. Once again, I apologise to the people of Ethiopia."@en1
