"Mr President, various Members, such as Mr Beysen, who has disappeared and reappeared in the meantime, and Mrs Gebhardt, have already remarked that there are fewer Members in the Chamber than earlier this morning. It is clear to us too that there are now even less than half of the Members here than there were earlier on. The Members who have left are a mixture of Members who supported me in my request for a quorum and those who heavily protested against it. It seems to me to be a good thing that this debate has got under way and I would like to extend warm thanks to the Members who supported me in this. I also welcome the fact that, clearly, the choice is not about retaining or abolishing Fridays, but very much about improving the present situation."@en1
