The European Parliament must operate the same high standards with regard to its own management as are required of the Commission. We are convinced that discharge can only be granted to the European Parliament in respect of the implementation of the 1998 budget, provided that specific measures are taken to buck this deplorable trend once and for all. We are very much in favour of a specific action plan through which such mismanagement can be prevented in the future."@en1
