"Madam President, I voted on behalf of the Pensioners’ Party for this recommendation on introducing protection under criminal law of the Union’s financial interests. I feel that this is, and must be a first step towards the creation of a true European judicial area for civil and criminal matters. Otherwise, I would not have voted for the recommendation, since it is not in Europe’s interests to concern itself with the creation of a European judicial institution merely to punish its own disloyal employees, those black sheep that are found everywhere. I hope and request that people all over Europe really will be given a European civil code and a European criminal code."@en1
