"Madam President, this afternoon we are going to hold the annual debate on the establishment of an area of freedom, security and justice. It is included in the agenda as Questions to the Council. In reality, the oral question is intended to introduce the debate laid down in the fourth paragraph of Article 2 of the Treaty.
I would like to ask the Presidency to guarantee that the Council, which has not replied in writing to these questions, will firstly reply to the questions put by the Committee on Citizens’ Rights and Freedoms, Justice and Home Affairs, so that we can then proceed to the debate laid down in the Union Treaty in a more effective way."@en1
