"Mr President, from what I can gather from the first part of the Commissioner’s answer, the Commission is totally indifferent to the negative impact the damaged bridges over the Danube will have and is only concerned about how it can make use of this natural disaster – which it in fact helped to bring about – to overturn the legally and democratically elected leadership in Yugoslavia. This does not create a very good impression. It is in keeping with the more general policy which the European Union has pursued on this issue. I would like to hear the Commissioner’s views on this or perhaps some statement to the contrary if I have misunderstood what he said."@en1
