"Question No 33 by Charlotte Cederschiöld (): Members of the public are not particularly well aware of their rights and should be entitled to receive information about legislation, since it is they who finance it. The EU’s Official Journal (OJ), which provides information about EU legislation, is published in an edition of 20,000 copies for 380 million people – is it any wonder, therefore, that the information is poorly distributed? A single copy of the OJ on the Internet would substantially increase access to the information and should be made a requirement under a Free Information Act for the year 2000. Will the Commission endeavour, within the next two years, to ensure that there is free access to the entire Official Journal on the Internet?"@en1
