"I would like firstly to welcome the Commissioner’s response but also to push him a little. What he said in relation to beef is that free trade is important, but that the health of the consumers should come first and free trade second. Will he also reassure us that he will take that attitude in Seattle When we look at the WTO negotiations it often appears that the health of consumers and others is subordinated to the free-trade aspect. Both are important, but health is a key issue."@en1
