". In light of the reasons – strictly political reasons – why we voted against Mr Durão Barroso’s nomination for President of the Commission in July and in light of the selections and the hearings of those who were selected that led to the composition of the Commission, which will result in political choices that are against what we stand for and that we fight against, we voted against the Commission. In the proposed line-up, nothing has changed, let alone improved, as regards the political conditions that led to our vote in July. We also voted this way for reasons that we made clear in the explanation of vote on the Joint Resolution on this issue. We reaffirm our defence of and struggle for alternative political options that attach importance to social, regional and environmental strands, the objective of economic and social cohesion that is always left out."@en1
