"I would like to make a statement concerning my vote on the Working Time Directive. It has to do with the fact that my voting machine malfunctioned in the vote on amendment motions 34 and 35. I voted in favour of those motions, but the machine showed a red light.
I continue to hold the opinion that all on-call time, including inactive time at certain points, is working time.
Why do I think this? It does not depend on the doctor or the fire fighter (who is required to be at work by his or her employer, who specifically requires a service to be provided), whether a patient needs a doctor or whether a fire breaks out. That does not depend on those people. They are at their workplace, this is working time, and I would request that my voting status on these issues be corrected in the minutes."@en1
